Edward Bonett Jr. To Present "New FLSA Law & Job Classifications" Seminar for Delco SHRM

Genova Burns Counsel Edward J. Bonett, Jr., Esq. will present a seminar entitled, "New FLSA Law & Job Classifications" for Delco SHRM on September 17th at the Inn at Swarthmore.

Mr. Bonett's presentation will cover the recent updates to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) focusing on wage and hour regulations, with new salary thresholds for exempt employees set to take effect on July 1, 2024. Mr. Bonett will discuss common exemptions including Executive, Administrative, Professional (EAP), Outside Sales, Computer Professional, and Highly Compensated Employee classifications. For EAP exemption, he will review the two critical tests: the Salary Basis Test and the Duties Test. This presentation will also highlight the new threshold for Highly Compensation Employees and other requirements from the latest Department of Labor (DOL) regulations. Additionally, Mr. Bonett will provide important FLSA guidance for employers, particularly HR professionals, to ensure compliance and avoid potential legal and financial repercussions.
