Jennifer Roselle to Present on Equal Pay and Joseph Hanon and Rebecca Moll Freed to Present on Municipal Insurance Brokerage & Procurement at NJLM Mini-Conference
June 15, 2021 | By: Joseph M. Hannon, Esq.
Genova Burns attorneys Jennifer Roselle, Rebecca Moll Freed and Joseph M. Hannon will speak at the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Online Mini-Conference, which takes place June 15 - 17.
Ms. Roselle will present a seminar entitled, "Case settled! Equal Pay", which will focus on the implications of the New Jersey Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act, related executive orders, case law and Federal laws detailing an employer’s ability to set salaries, change salaries and offer differentiated salaries to similarly situated individuals. Ms. Roselle will discuss the concept of equal pay for equal work, the entitlements for employees performing substantially similar work and the ramifications for employer’s failure to meet the law’s requirements.
Ms. Moll Freed and Mr. Hannon will present "Understanding the Tricky World Of Municipal Insurance Brokerage And Procurement". This seminar will focus on the key compliance considerations that result from the application of insurance, procurement and OSC standards. Every municipality in New Jersey is responsible for obtaining insurance coverage for the municipality and its employees. Insurance is an extraordinary unspecifiable service subject to procurement law requirements. The convergence of insurance regulatory requirements and public contracting law make for a tricky environment that may be subject to review by the Office of the State Comptroller (“OSC”) on a pre- or post-contracting basis.
