Maria Fruci to Chair Law Day 2017
May 4, 2017
Friday, May 5th, 2017 is Law Day throughout the State of New Jersey. Genova Burns Associate Maria Fruci is the chair of this year's Law Day in Essex County. On this special day, mock trial student teams in schools across the county will discuss cases regarding current issues related to headline cases in New Jersey along with the theme of the day, which this year is how the Fourteenth Amendment has reshaped American law and society.
As the event chair, Ms. Fruci has helped recruit and coordinate volunteers, and assisted with assignments of schools and volunteers for the event. She and the event committee, which includes court staff, are serving as the go-to group for questions and assistance throughout the day.
Essex County Law Day 2017 also will feature a very special speaker - Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States - at the Awards reception at the Historic Courthouse in Newark following the morning's mock trials. (Steven Edenbo, a Thomas Jefferson impersonator, historian, and motivational speaker, is being sponsored by Genova Burns LLC.) Jefferson (Edenbo) will speak about his reaction to the Fourteenth Amendment and participate with the students in the Awards Ceremony.
Ms. Fruci is a member of the Firm's Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
