Firm’s Representation of New York City Candidates Mentioned in Star Ledger
September 23, 2013
The Sunday Star Ledger’s The Auditor column commented on Genova Burns’s representation of Bill de Blasio, the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City; Scott M. Stringer, the Manhattan borough president and Democratic nominee for city controller; and state Sen. Daniel Squadron of Brooklyn, who is running for public advocate: “[They] have all retained [Angelo] Genova’s Newark-based law firm to help negotiate the city’s campaign finance laws, which are strewn with minefields… ‘It’s great that a New Jersey firm is getting recognition in New York,’ Genova said.” The article noted the firm’s New York City office and partner Laurence Laufer, “who has represented more than 130 campaigns in New York City.”
