GBGW Wins Appellate Ruling that Carmelo Garcia is Eligible to Run for State Assembly Seat

Yesterday Genova Burns was successful in establishing that Hoboken Housing Director Carmelo Garcia is eligible to run for a Seat in the State Assembly;  an appellate court decision on April 30 overturned a prior Superior Court decision. Rajiv Parikh and Angelo Genova of the Firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Group represented Mr. Garcia. The Jersey Journal quoted Mr. Parikh: “The decision supports what we had argued that ... there is no legislative prohibition in New Jersey (preventing) Mr. Garcia from running. Five Hoboken residents filed the lawsuit challenging Garcia's candidacy for the Assembly, claiming a conflict of interest. For the full story click here.
