New Credit for Commercial and Industrial Utility Customers

View the article Expenditures for energy efficient products and services in 2012 will be eligible for the credit in January 2013 as Governor Christie recently signed L. 2011, c. 216 authorizing a credit for commercial or industrial ratepayers against the societal benefits charge (“SBC”) imposed by N.J.S.A. 48:3-60 and collected as a non-bypassable charge by the electric and gas public utilities.    A credit against the SBC may result in substantial savings for commercial and industrial ratepayers.
