Genova Burns Helps Secure Major Funding For Client Under The Film and Digital Media Studio Infrastructure Act

Genova Burns is pleased to announce a major success on behalf of client Criterion Group LLC in connection to the recent New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) approval of $9.5 million in funding under the Film and Digital Media Studio Infrastructure Act, of which a significant portion was approved in support of our Client’s film studio project in Jersey City. Criterion Group, with the assistance of Genova Burns LLC, is engaged in an innovative effort to create a full-scale film campus, located in Jersey City.

As a result of the success of Genova Burns Partners Eugene T. Paolino, Esq. and Gerard D. Pizzillo, Esq., with the enthusiastic support of and in coordination with the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency, crucial public infrastructure enhancements will be made in the Liberty Harbor Redevelopment Area of Jersey City. These upgrades are specifically tailored to support our client’s proposed 124,000-square-foot film studio, which will feature three state-of-the-art sound stages and other support space to further strengthen the expanding Film/Digital Media industry and opportunities in Hudson County and across the State.

The infrastructure improvements include:

• Additional crosswalks and traffic control signage to enhance safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
• Installation of security and public access lighting to bolster safety measures around the property.
• Provision of public-accessible bicycle parking racks.
• Various streetscape enhancements to enrich the surrounding environment.

These efforts will play a pivotal role in realizing our clients’ vision for the project and for the great city of Jersey City.
