On Remand from Supreme Court, Genova, Burns & Vernoia Receives Favorable Ruling in the Longest Running Election Contest of its Kind in New Jersey

Genova, Burns & Vernoia co-founding partner, Angelo Genova, received a favorable decision from the Morris County Superior Court for an election contest case that lasted over two years. In November 2005, our client, Michael Luther, was elected Mayor of Parsippany by a 39-vote margin of victory. The election results were challenged by the runner-up, Rosemarie Agostini, which started the legal odyssey that took the matter from the Morris County Superior Court, then to the Appellate Division, to a New Jersey Supreme Court published decision that clarified decades-old case law and then remanded for trial at the Morris County Superior Court which conducted a two-week trial.
