Mr. Lebersfeld's experience covers a wide range of practice areas, including commercial litigation, insurance litigation, real estate litigation, intellectual property matters and conducting internal investigations. He has represented a broad spectrum of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to small family businesses, insurers and policy holders, as well as corporate executives and the “little guy.” He has argued and won numerous dispositive motions and appeals.
Mr. Lebersfeld's notable achievements include successfully defending a CFO of a publicly traded company against a claim for breach of a guaranty while simultaneously prevailing on the CFO’s counter-claims for breach of his employment agreement and indemnification on appeal. Drone USA, Inc. v. Antonelos, 208 A.D.3d 1062 (1st Dep’t 2022). This case's oral argument is publicly made available on YouTube. Mr. Lebersfeld similarly secured dismissal of claims seeking to impose millions of dollars of personal liability on the CEO of an import-export business in an action in the Commercial Division of the New York County Supreme Court. Another significant achievement includes reversal of a trial court’s decision following a bench trial in an assault case involving a corrections officer. Galloway v. State of New York, 212 A.D.3d 965 (3d Dep’t 2023).
Mr. Lebersfeld earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in May 2004, where he was recognized as a Thurgood Marshall Scholar. He holds a B.A. in History, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in May 2001.
